The ENACT project is dedicated to developing a predictive exposomic risk score for acute and chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), applicable at both the population and individual levels. This ambitious initiative leverages international collaboration and progresses through five pilot sites and three key phases:
01.
Utilizing retrospective health data from patients in Belgium, ENACT will construct an exposomic risk prediction model focused on hospitalizations related to acute NCDs.
02.
The predictive model will be validated and calibrated using additional retrospective data from national cohorts in Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. This step ensures the model’s accuracy and generalisability across diverse populations.
03.
The final phase adapts the population-level model into a personalized risk assessment tool. This will be achieved by integrating data from healthy volunteers across the five participating countries. The goal is to predict individual-level risk of preclinical disease or hospitalization due to acute NCDs.
